A few years ago, if I wanted to build something big, I needed a team, a budget, and several years of my life. That was just how it worked. I should know — I've been making games and pretty cool software for nearly forty years.
That math is quietly breaking. AI got smart, genuinely smart, and it's opened up possibilities that simply didn't exist for one person before. Projects that would have taken me years, I can now do in weeks. And I've been busy. I have a growing pile of games, tools, and odd little experiments that I'm frankly proud of.
I needed somewhere to put them. Somewhere to show my friends, and anyone else who might care. So: this blog.
"Made with AI", and why people hear it wrong
There's a reaction I've started to expect. When people read that something is made with AI, most of them dismiss it almost immediately. And I get why. AI is now so accessible that everyone is convinced they already know how to use it. It looks like a single step: tell an AI agent to "do this", and it appears. So "made with AI" gets translated, in people's heads, into "I could do that too. Dead easy. Just tell the chatbot, and voilà."
Here's the thing: they have no concept of how deep this goes. There's a world of difference between typing a prompt and actually getting something good out the other side. Judgment, taste, knowing what to ask for, knowing when the machine is confidently wrong. That's the actual work, and none of it shows up in the one-line summary.
And to be clear: it's not made with AI because I'm too lazy to do it myself. It's made with AI because alone I could do X, and with AI I can do 100X. That's not laziness. That's leverage.
Is this blog 100X better, then?
No.
But here's the honest bit. If I had to write all of this myself, find the words, revise every sentence, then click through a dozen screens just to hit publish, I would never do it. I know myself well enough to say that with confidence. The blog simply wouldn't exist.
This way, it does. It works fine. And I still have time to actually make the cool things this blog is about, instead of spending all my energy telling you about them.
